So let me start by saying I have standard AC in my apt but my apt faces the West Sun in Vegas and it gets HOT. The wall just absorbs the heat so my AC is pretty weak. I wanted to get a portable AC for my room to keep it cooler for bed time. So initially I would’ve rate this a 4.5 but after using it for a couple weeks in my bedroom, I would rate this a 2.5/3. I’m giving them a 3 because it is cold. The end on the pros. Cons.. where to start? -Remote doesn’t include batteries. That can go either way but I like to use rechargeable batteries so that wasn’t so bad for me but for you maybe. Definitely an issue if you dont have batteries on hand because of the other issue listed 2 below if you're in the US. -The window adapter was too big. I couldn’t just use the single piece because it was too short but if I added the extension, it blocked the hose from being pushed into the hole. So I basically just snapped the adapter in half so that it wouldn’t block the hose hole. -So this is where you’ll need the batteries. The device starts in Celsius. It kept saying 23/24 and I was like is that the level? What is going on? It was Celsius so I needed to put batteries in the remote to change it Fahrenheit. I switched it but if you manually turn the unit off, it goes back to Celsius when you turn it on. So you’ll need the remote to check the temp. -Speaking of temp, you dont know what the temp is in the room. So when you set the temp on the AC you don’t know if its close to the room temp or not. -The noise. If you are a light sleeper, DO NOT PUT THIS IN YOUR ROOM. The way it starts and shuts down is very jarring. For me, once Im asleep its good plus I live on Las Vegas Blvd so Im used to loud noises. -The hose kept disconnected from the ring adapter that connects to the AC. So I woke up one morning and it was warm and I was like is this AC broken already? I checked and the hose popped out. I reinstalled it. Happened several more times before I had to duct tape it so it would stop popping out. -The vent. The vent flow is mostly just straight out and because of the short height, it kind of doesn’t circulate the air like I would’ve expected. Overall, this might meet some peoples needs but it seemed to give me lots of issues. I will be putting this in the guest room. It does cool the room but its pretty loud.
